In
2003, a handful of community-minded citizens had a vision for
Denver Days as a community event that would provide a fun, family oriented
festival the
entire community could enjoy and would help to enhance civic pride in the Denver
area while raising funds for recreational
facilities and additional resources for the community.
That vision has
grown into a four night festival with businesses, craft vendors,
amusement rides, food, music and entertainment that the people
of Denver and the surrounding area
look forward to each year!
Since it's
inception in 2003 a major objective of Denver Days was to
raise money for the purchase of land for a public park that
could become the permanent home for the Festival. In 2010 the
management and direction of the Denver Days Fall Festival was
passed from the small founding organization of local citizens
and business owners to the Denver-Lake Norman Rotary Club in fulfillment
of that objective... Since
the summer of 2009 the Denver Lake Norman Rotarians have been
developing plans for the “East Lincoln Rescue Park” to be
built on 32 acres of land on Galway Lane, adjacent to the
Lincoln Charter School in Denver. Construction of the park is
hoped to begin in 2011, and once it is opened it will
become the permanent home for Denver Days. Profits from Denver
Days will be dedicated 100% toward development and support of the park and
facilities.
Construction of
the park facilities with money from fund-raising efforts such as
Denver Days, grant applications, and private/public donations
will fulfill the dream of the founders and volunteers of Denver
Days to provide a great park for the community. The vision of the
Denver Lake Norman Rotary Club is to work hand-in-hand with
members of the
previous Denver Days Board and volunteers to insure that the Denver Days
Festival continues and grows to further benefit the local community.
The addition of
the Denver-Lake Norman Rotary Club volunteers and their
enthusiasm will insure that the festival started years ago will
continue to be an important part of the community and that the
tradition will continue. We're proud of the support the
festival has given to the community. Over the years Denver Days has contributed to a number wonderful local
organizations including : The Lincolnton Downtown Development
Association, East Lincoln Rescue Squad, East Lincoln High School
Sports Boosters, Lincoln County Special Needs, Lincoln County
Animal Control's Noah's Ark Project, Doug Herbert's BRAKES
Foundation, and the Catawba Springs PTA. Denver Days has been
very involved in the community and will continue to support the area in the future.
Raising
enough funds for a goal as lofty as a park is a daunting task.
While the festival has grown quite large, festival expenses have
grown large as well. There are many costs associated with
holding the festival that most people are unaware of. Costs such
as lighting, power, water, insurance, and waste disposal just to
name a few. The festival would not be financially feasible
without the generous support of our sponsors so please be sure
to take the time to learn who our
sponsors are, patronize their businesses and tell them you
appreciate their support!
A small and
dedicated team of volunteers work very hard year-round to
organize and conduct the festival along with countless other
volunteers such as the local sheriff's deputies, State Highway
Patrol officers, local firefighters, county emergency medical personnel, local businesses, local clubs &
organizations and community-minded citizens. We thank each and
every one for their help and support because without them there would be no Denver Days Festival.

Have a great time
and enjoy the Festival !
